Mother’s Daughter unveils a series of poetic, figurative paintings that tenderly confront the inherited emotional wounds passed down through generations of women, echoing the aching vulnerability and resilience at the heart of these legacies.
Drawing from Western classical painting fused with personal symbolism, Haz Yusup pours her reflections on betrayal, purity, devotion, and the delicate, often heartbreaking transition from innocence to self-awareness into her art, amplifying their emotional force.
Set within dreamlike landscapes of jambu air trees, veils, butterflies, lambs, serpents, and sacred rituals, the works reveal how tenderness and pain often coexist beneath femininity.
Romantic yet tragic, the exhibition interrogates the emotional patterns women inherit — asking directly if these cycles are destined to persist or can be broken.
